“…The formation and functioning of the vegetation of the anthropically altered territories of delta regions attracted the attention of many researchers (Klimentov, 1960;Tkachenko, 1984;Plisak, 1987;Dubyna & Shelyag-Sosonko, 1989;Syvitski et al, 2009;You et al, 2015). In the Danube Delta, which is located on the territory of two countries, Romania and Ukraine, vegetation dynamic was studied by Ukrainian (Shelyag-Sosonko & Dubyna, 1984;Klokov & Diachenko, 1993;Dubyna et al, 1997aDubyna et al, , 1999aDubyna et al, -c, 2003; Diachenko, 2010; Dubyna, 2021a-f) and Romanian (Godeanu, 1976 (Dvoretsky, 1999(Dvoretsky, , 2002(Dvoretsky, , 2004 studied the effect of mowing on the swamp and meadow vegetation of the Ukrainian part of the delta, O. Zhmud (Zhmud, 1999a, b) documented natural and anthropogenic changes in the vegetation of the Danube Biosphere Reserve.…”

“…The decrease in natural flood disturbances enhances the disappearance of typical river environmental landscapes, such as the conditions of a gravel riverbed, and promotes the succession to a woodland overgrowth [1]. In Japanese river ecosystems, not only hydrodynamic forces but also sediment transports disturb river morphology, riverbed conditions and vegetation conditions.…”
