Purpose: The objective of this study is to seek out common problems and improvement strategies in the management of urban hotels in China under the Sustainable Development Goals of low-carbon tourism. As significant contributors to carbon emissions in the tourism industry, urban hotels in China face various challenges in their operations. It is worth exploring the specific problems they encounter and how to enhance the management of urban hotels, along with strategies for improvement. Theoretical framework: Recent literature indicate that carbon emissions from urban hotels are more pronounced compared to other components of tourism activities. Design/methodology/approach: This paper adopts a qualitative research approach and draws upon literature and relevant theories to propose the "4R+1C" principle for urban hotel management. Subsequently, it summarizes the existing problems in the management of urban hotels in China and finds out common issues through text analysis. Finally, based on the Sustainable Development Goals of low-carbon tourism and relevant theories, improvement suggestions are provided. Findings: Low-carbon tourism is not only a requirement of Sustainable Development Goals but also a crucial means of addressing economic and environmental conflicts, which is also a trend in the development of urban hotels. As the second-largest source of carbon emissions in the tourism industry, it is imperative for hotels to implement energy-saving and emission reduction measures. Research, Practical & Social implications: It is recommended that future research focuses more on the Sustainable Development Goals of low-carbon tourism and encourages the hotels to actively engage in low-carbon practices in their operations. Originality/value: The results indicate that urban hotels lack a strong awareness of low-carbon tourism in their operations, which deviates from the Sustainable Development Goals. Low-carbon management can enhance hotel management capabilities, improve competitiveness, and promote high-quality and sustainable development in the hotel industry.

This study established the effect of governance on project performance: A case of affordable housing projects in Kenya. The specific goals were to determine the effect of stakeholder management, project control, project monitoring and project accountability on project performance. The study used Agency theory and supported by Stakeholder theory. A descriptive research design was employed. The population was 165 project managers, project lead and project team members in charge of the affordable housing projects in Kenya. Stratified sampling method was employed to get the sample. The study sample size was 117 respondents. A semi-structured questionnaire was utilized to obtain primary data. Descriptive statistics like mean, percentages, frequencies, and standard deviation was used to analyse the data. To demonstrate the variables relationship multiple linear regression analysis was used. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23 was used. Tables and figures were used to present the data. The study conformed to ethical considerations such participant voluntariness, confidentiality, and anonymity. The study revealed that stakeholder management had a significant and positive relationship with project performance. Project control had a significant and positive association with project performance. Project monitoring had a significant and positive association with project performance. Project accountability had a significant and positive association with project performance. The study recommended monitoring and evaluating the stakeholder engagements in order to make improvement to the available methods used in stakeholder management. Monitoring of stakeholder engagement is essential as it helps in determining whether stakeholder management during the project impacts the project performance positively or whether there is need for review. Project stakeholders may make the best decisions at the right time with the help of timely insights that come from connecting project control with the rest of project management. Project performance and project monitoring had a substantial and favourable link. The study suggested careful project monitoring to assist project managers in gathering important information about how a project is doing and in using the information to make informed decisions. Project success was significantly and favourably correlated with project responsibility. According to the study, accountability should be improved by clearly stating objectives so that project team members are aware of who is in charge of which project components.

This study aims to examine the effect of marketing innovation and customer satisfaction on customer loyalty. In this study, it will also be seen to determine the mediating role of customer satisfaction in forming the relationship between marketing innovation and customer loyalty. The method in this study uses a quantitative approach. The research was conducted on customers at the Reddoorz Hotel in Bandung. The questionnaires that were collected were 183 questionnaires. So the sample in this study were 183 respondents. The data collected were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling method with the help of Amos software Version 23. The results showed that there was an influence between marketing innovation on customer satisfaction, there was an influence between marketing innovation on customer loyalty, and there is an influence between customer satisfaction on customer loyalty. The results also show that customer satisfaction has a mediating role that forms the relationship between marketing innovation and customer loyalty. We suggest that customer satisfaction and marketing innovation can be further improved to increase customer loyalty.
