“…More than 50 viruses, 6 viroids and 11 phytoplasmas are reported to infect apple and other pome fruits that cause significant yield losses (Nemeth 1986;Martelli et al 2011;Watpade et al 2013). Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus (ACLSV, Trichovirus), apple mosaic virus (ApMV, Ilarvirus), apple stem pitting virus (ASPV, Foveavirus), apple stem grooving virus (ASGV, Capillovirus) and prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV, Ilarvirus) are economically important viruses (Mink 1989;Desvignes 1999) and apple scar skin viroid (ASSVd, Apscaviroid) is economically important viroid infecting apple (Sharma et al 2020). Most of the apple viruses are latent except ApMV.…”
