“…In such cases where US is indeterminate, MRI is the diagnostic imaging modality. Ectopic gestational sac is usually extra-ovarian, T1 hypointense, T2 hyperintense with ring like or dot like enhancement & surrounding hematoma (21). In our study we had an intact ectopic tubal pregnancy.…”

“…In women of reproductive age group presenting to the emergency department with bleeding PV or pelvic pain, ectopic pregnancy (EP) is a dreaded diagnosis due to associated increased morbidity & mortality (10,21). There is rising incidence of EP with increasing sexually transmitted diseases and use of assisted reproductive techniques (21).…”

“…In a study of 24 patients with clinically suspected ectopic pregnancy, but inconclusive TVUS, the ectopic gestational sac was identified with MRI in 22/24 patients. While other imaging features such as T2 characteristics, T2*, and dynamic contrast enhancement were the primary tools for detection and characterization, Takehashi et al reported that 91% of implantations demonstrated a ring-like or stippled pattern of restricted diffusion [27].…”

“…11 Transvaginal US demonstrates a gestational sac (GS) when hCG levels are greater than 2000 mIU/mL, 12 with a sensitivity of 69% to 99% and a specificity of 84% to 99.9%. 13 Sometimes US provides a definitive diagnosis showing an extrauterine GS with a yolk sac or embryo; more frequently, it is only suggestive of an EP showing the presence of an adnexal mass (the most common sonographic finding in EP) and pelvic free fluid. [14][15][16] The adnexal mass usually appears as a saclike ring, solid or complex (Fig.…”
