“…Tozoğlu and Çakur (16) reported similar results of a larger GA in edentulous patients although not statistically significant. The results of the present study also are in line with those of previous studies which did not find a significat association between edentulousness and changes in the GA (23,24). However, a significant increase of the GA in edentulous patients compared to dentate patients was reported (5,18).…”

“…Incisural and gonial angle values, which will contribute greatly to the treatment approaches of Temporamandibular joint disorders and in this area surgery, have not yet become clear when the literature is examined (10)(11)(12). There are many measurement studies of mandible morphology in the literature (10-16) Although there are some measurement studies based on gender and age of gonial angle, there is no clear data on incisural angle (15,16).…”

“…Incisure angle of the mandible is a wide notch between coronoid and processus condylar process. (11). This notch passes through veins and nerves, which are important in craniofacial surgery and general dentistry (1,11) The gonial angle of the mandible is the angle between the posterior boundary of the ramus of the mandible and the lower edge boundary of the mandible.…”

“…To analyze the degree of mucosal damage in the visual conventional groups, we took a picture of the inner surfaces of these anatomical structures using a camera that was affixed to a static support and positioned at a standardized distance. The damaged areas were then quantified using Image J software (National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA), which was able to easily discern different colors in the picture and analyze the damaged areas [15, 16]. After the operators completed the nasogastric tube insertion, we evaluated whether the nasogastric tube was misplaced or not using the real-time images of the VNGS.…”
