Editor's Choice: Becoming Student Centered Via the One-Stop Shop Initiative: A Case Study of Onondaga Community College

Abstract: The article provides a blueprint of how a mid-sized community college in the midst of coping with increasing enrollment and scarce resources was able to improve dramatically its services to new enrolling students via the One-Stop Shop Initiative. The article will introduce the theoretical framework and its practical use within the community college setting.

The practices, some of which have been identified in previous literature (Bishop, 2010;Walters, 2003) can be seamlessly integrated into a college setting via Freshmen and Transfer Student orientations conducted by the researcher and other college orientation leaders along with peer mentors and personal counseling office staff.
