Editorial for the "FRP Structures" Special Issue

Abstract: Abstract:The objective of this Special Issue is to present recent advances and emerging cross-disciplinary in the field of thin-walled composite profiles made of Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRP), as well as the use of FRP components in structural engineering in general. In this Editorial, a brief summary is provided for all the published papers, in order to emphasize the wide range of possible applications of FRP composites in buildings and structural systems.

“…1 The pultruded fibre reinforced composites (PFRC) have the properties of light weight and corrosion resistance, and have been used in many fields, such as the telecommunication towers, civil engineering buildings and oil drilling industry. [2][3][4] The fatigue behaviour of PFRC is a major concern because PFRC mainly bears cyclic load during the engineering application.…”

“…A number of papers have studied the strength and stiffness of adhesively bonded joints in composite structures as well as nano scale composite joint . The strength of such joints depends on many factors, including the individual properties of the adherend, the adhesive layer and the interface layers, loading parameters relating with time‐dependent mechanical or environmental stress, and so forth .…”
