The objective of this research was to evaluate the teaching practice in the form of Work Project for meaningful learning of the discipline of Rural Constructions and Instalactions, taught at the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Pará (IFPA), Pará, Brazil. The theme of the Work Project consisted in the construction of a diagnosis on the system of breeding of rustic chickens. The study was based on the concept of action research with qualitative analysis and application of pre-and post-activity questionnaires. The results showed positive contribution to the construction of an autonomous and consistent knowledge by the participating students, and evidenced greater comprehension power by the content taught in the discipline, among others, materials of alternative constructions, architectural design elements, ambience and animal comfort.
