As an extension, the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) (2005) determined that these four articles would act as "general principles" (CRC, 2005, p. 4) of the UNCRC and be used to expand the knowledge of children as rights-holders, support the interpretation of the Convention, and act as a guide for providing universal standards for children (CRC, 2005;Di Santo & Kenneally, 2014;Howe, 2007;Howe & Covell, 2013).
