“…In 2016, when the National Governor's Association called for partners in building 2‐Generation Policy networks, these new leaders were excited. This initiative was a response to the growing evidence that human service programs designed around the relationships between parents and children can improve long‐term outcomes (Chase‐Lansdale & Brooks‐Gunn, 2014; Sommer et al, 2016) and that existing structures, public policies, and funding impede public investment in such efforts (Agranoff, 2014; Hasse & Austin, 1997).
