Digital holographic microscopy (DHM) allows for highly precise 3D surface measurements in a non-invasive way, but phase aberrations from off-axis DHM recordings can compromise image accuracy. Traditional compensation methods require manual intervention, hindering further automated use of DHM. Other methods based on background segmentation and Zernike polynomials have been proposed, but identifying the sample and background regions can lead to inaccurate compensation results. Additionally, traditional image restoration algorithms struggle with restoring sample-free holograms involving large or multiple vacant areas. A new automated aberration compensation method is proposed using large-mask inpainting networks. This method restores sample-free holograms and compensates for phase aberrations, leveraging deep learning to enable real-time measurements. In the study, the network was trained with holograms of varying fringes, and experimental results show its effectiveness in improving image accuracy and detail. This approach could have wide applications in industries such as micro-electromechanical systems and micro- integrated circuits.

High-speed videogrammetric measurements are widely used on shaking tables. However, during progressive collapse experiments, the protective string used to ensure the safety of personnel and the shaking table, mandated by safety considerations, can partially occlude the structural model. To address the problem of inaccurate tracking of the ellipse targets in image sequences due to the partial occlusion, this paper proposes a novel mutually guided tracking method for the partial occlusion situations. Firstly, the strategy of loopback detection is proposed to eliminate the cumulative errors with the initial tracking model and to replace the initial results of the tracking with those from the loopback detection. Secondly, tiny offset compensation is used to solve the problem of deviations. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve single-point localization at the sub-millimeter level and interlayer localization at the millimeter level within partially occluded environments. It is important that the proposed method meets the requirements of experimental accuracy on shaking tables and ensures the safety of personnel and facilities.

Bridges play a vital role in modern transportation networks. Nevertheless, the degradation of their materials, combined with the effects of natural disasters (e.g. earthquakes, floods, rockfalls, landslides), can result in decreased performance or even collapse. Therefore, monitoring the health of bridges is essential to maintain the safety and integrity of highway and railway systems. Noncontact sensing technologies provide effective solutions for bridge condition monitoring and performance assessment, as they can gather data without direct interaction with the structure. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the latest noncontact sensing technologies employed for bridge condition monitoring, detailing their principles, benefits, drawbacks, and applications. Firstly, the recent advancements in vision sensing technology for detecting defects, measuring deformations, vibrations, cable forces, vehicle loads, pedestrian-induced impact force, and monitoring vessel collision with bridges are summarized; secondly, the laser scanning technology for three-dimensional model reconstruction, full-field deformation measurement, and quality inspection of bridges are examined; thirdly, the use of microwave radar technology for measuring deformations, vibrations, and cable forces in bridges is investigated. Finally, the paper outlines future trends in noncontact sensing technologies for bridge condition monitoring and evaluation. This comprehensive review offers valuable insights for engineers and researchers in the field of civil engineering.
