“…Un factor importante para optimizar el sistema de trampas para monitorear las plagas de insectos es la adición de tejido vegetal o tejido del hospedero que funciona como sinergista y aumenta la captura de insectos (Figueroa-Castro et al, 2017). Para el trampeo de S. acupunctatus, se han probado varios sinergistas, por ejemplo, tejido de agaves, frutos de piña y plátano y en diferentes especies de agaves (Cruz-Esteban et al, 2020;Cruz-Faustino et al, 2019;Figueroa-Castro et al, 2017). Sin embargo, hasta ahora, la fuente sinergista más común para S. acupunctatus es tejido agave fresco (Figueroa-Castro et al, 2017, 2018, por lo que es importante saber si otras frutas y tejidos de agave pueden trabajar como agente sinérgico para aumentar las capturas de S. acupunctatus en trampas cebadas con feromonas de agregación sintética.…”
