“…For this reason, complementary methods based on model cell membranes, which allow to investigate interactions between nanomaterials and phospholipids at the molecular level, have attracted much attention . A Langmuir technique is one of the well-known and widely applied methods for the preparation of model cell membranes. This technique has also been successfully used in studies of interactions between different nanoparticles and phospholipids, including MNPs. A single Langmuir monolayer formed from phospholipids can be considered as an oversimplified experimental model of a cell membrane consisting of two weakly coupled monolayers, which is a complex and dynamic system. The composition of a model membrane can be precisely designed with the Langmuir method, which allows the formation of one- or multi-component monolayers from different types of phospholipids and other components of membranes.…”
