Abstract:Orexin is a neuropeptide produced by the lateral hypothalamus that plays an important role in regulating the sleep-wake cycle. The overexpression of the orexinergic system may be related to the pathology of sleep/wakefulness disorders in Alzheimer's disease (AD).
