Effect of Ag/rGO on the Optical Properties of Plasmon-Modified SnO2 Composite and Its Application in Self-Powered UV Photodetector

Abstract: A facile hydrothermal method was employed to synthesize silver–reduced graphene oxide (Ag/rGO) plasmon-modified SnO2 composite, by incorporating Ag–reduced graphene oxide (Ag/rGO) into SnO2 nanorods as a photoanode for assembling a self-powered ultraviolet photodetector (UVPD). The as-synthesized samples were investigated in detail by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, and UV visible spectrophotometer. The as-prepared Ag/rGO films show enhanced light absorption att… Show more

“…This performance is significantly better than reported metal oxide-based selfpowered photodetectors. [35][36][37][38] What's more, the performance of the detector is comparable to that of 2D material metal sulfide or perovskite based self-powered photodetectors. [39][40][41][42] Therefore, our detector has great application value because of its low-cost and straightforward experimental method and large scale film with high quality.…”

“…These findings are similar to those of [26], who observed maximum peaks ranging from 253 to 265 nm for rGO and rGO/Ag NPs synthesis. Furthermore, Abdalla et al [23] (1)…”

“…Furthermore, among the numerous forms of NPs, magnetic particles have been widely used in nanocatalyst production due to their ease of separation using an appropriate external magnetic field. The emergence of rGO with Ag NPs as hybridized nanocomposites produces promising compounds with improving performance and enhancing the photodegradation, biological, antimicrobial, and antibacterial effects [23]. This work seeks to generate rGO@ Ag hybrid NPs using a simple and environmentally safe approach to improve the photodegradation of CR dye from an aqueous solution.…”

“…The synthesis and properties of Ag nanoparticles have attracted widespread attention owing to their unique volume effects, surface effects, and quantum size [21,22], as well as their high conductivity [23,24], excellent catalytic activities [25,26], and broad antiviral and antibacterial properties [27,28]. Meanwhile, nanocomposites containing Ag nanoparticles have widely been applied in a variety of areas [29] such as flexible supercapacitor electrodes [30], solar energy harvesting [31], catalytic degradation of organic dyes [32], wound healing [33], and so on.…”
