Misirli et al [24] investigated the effect of an addition of boric oxide (B 2 O 3 ) to the sintering of Al 2 O 3 , and found that the porosity of the materials, which were made using a spray-drying technique, could be controlled by the level of addition of B 2 O 3 . This porous structure gave the material a good strength, making it a potential candidate for use in ceramic lters and for ceramic-metal composite preforms [22].…”
