Abstract:Gastropod shells, such as those from the freshwater snail (Sulcospira testudinaria), have garnered interest as potential sources of calcium precursors. These shells are rich in calcium carbonate (CaCO3), which can be thermally decomposed into calcium oxide (CaO) through calcination.
