Effect of circadian on the activities of ion transport ATPases and histological structure of kidneys in mice

Abstract: The impacts of unnatural every day cycles (circadian) for 60 days on the histological structure of kidneys and ATPase activities in MF1 mice were studied. The exposure times were 16 h dark, 16 h light, 24 h dark, and 24 h light, and control exposure times were 12 h dark followed by 12 h light. Our results showed an increase in the total ATPase activity of mice in all groups. Additionally, the activity of the enzyme Na + /K + -ATPase was increased after 24 h darknes… Show more

“…As healthcare agents or additives, trace element intake has the potential to develop "chronotherapeutic pharmacological properties". Given that the ions of trace elements may pass cytoplasmic membranes through certain ionic channels or receptors [146,[215][216][217] and the fact that the expression of multiple ionic channels and receptors exhibits diurnal regulation [217][218][219], we suggest that the absorption of these micronutrients via channels and receptors also shows a circadian pattern. Besides, all three PPAR isoforms were found to be rhythmically expressed in some mouse tissues [220].…”
