“…On the other hand, Chu et al (2012), evaluating DE levels varying from 3,250 to 3,491 kcal kg -1 , observed a linear decrease in LEA with increasing energy densities. In addition to possible differences in the genetic potential for lean meat deposition, the inconsistency of results between the studies may also be related to the LD: ED ratios (1.87, 1.81, 1.74, 1.68, 1.66) in the study of Chu et al (2012), which decreased as DE levels increased and may have limited protein synthesis, resulting in lower LEA values.
