Effect of Dietary Zeolite on Ammonia Toxicity and on Some of Blood Parameters in Common Carp Cyprinus Carpio

Abstract: The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of dietary zeolite on ammonia toxicity and in some of blood parameters in Cyprinus carpio. Fish were fed   either a control diets (0% zeolite) or control diet supplemented with 2, 4 and 6% (T1, T2 and T3) respectively for 28 days. Results showed that the mean value of ammonia concentrations ranged between 0.10 mg/l in T1 and T3 in the first week to 1.85 mg/l in control in fourth week, which could be noticed a gradually increased in the values of ammonia in the end… Show more

“…The paste-like passed through the meat mincer to produce pellets (1-2 mm in diameter), then the feeds were dried in the drying cabinet at 60 degrees for 10 hours. The experimental diets are: Use the commercial control diet (0% zeolite), adding a diet with 2% zeolite and adding a diet with 10% zeolite (Abdulathem & Al-Rudainy, 2021).…”

“…Like Zeolites are microporous crystalline hydrated aluminosilicates that have many applications due to their biocompatibility, such as ion exchange and adsorption-desorption properties. (1,2). Adsorption has been identified as a potentially useful technology for removing pollutants from wastewater, claybased adsorbents, such as zeolite and claybased (bentonite, kaolin and montmorillonite) are cost-effective (11`).…”

Silver is recognized to have a broad antibacterial range and to be generally harmless compared to other antibacterial metals.…”
