Effect of Emotional Intelligence and Transformational Leadership Towards Work-Life Balance among Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN)

Abstract

Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) is one of the vital organizations in Malaysian Armed Forces which is part of Malaysian main defence which need which require human resources with the mental and physical endurance necessary to balance work and life. Hence, about 308 officers and soldiers of Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) in Pangkalan Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) Lumut, Perak were involved in answering the questionnaire related to the study. The findings of the study indicate that there is low significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence (EI) and work-life balance (WLB). There was moderate positive significant correlation between transformational leadership and work-life balance. To produce military personnel who can strike a balance between their work and their day-to-day lifestyle, this study's findings show that the research model can be used as a guide and framework for the implementation of programmes and activities to strengthen the psychological aspects of selfcontrol among the members.
