“…We have previously evaluated the level of EG lipid peroxide (LPO) in various diseases, and reported that it was increased in patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus in a manner independent of other clinical parameters [2]. Also, we have measured the effect of exercise (treadmill test) on the level of the EG-LPO in patients with hyperlipidemia or hypertension, and concluded that exertion increased the level of EG-LPO [3]. From these results, we suggested that changes in lipid peroxidation of the EG play an important role in the initiation and progression of atherosclerotic vascular lesions.…”
