Effect of Fe substitution for Cu in the mixed state of (Bi, Pb):2223 superconductor

Abstract: The effect of the partial substitution of x = 0.02 Fe for Cu in the stabilized (Bi, Pb):2223 phase has been investigated by magnetoresistivity measurements up to 0.7 T. The intra- and intergranular transitions as a function of magnetic field were analysed using versus T curves. The Arrhenius plots are represented by a family of straight lines. The activation energy is proportional to . The main dissipation process is related to the vortex cutting mechanism.

“…Tel. : +90 422 3410010x3720; fax: +90 422 3410037. grain formation and intergrain properties of the Bi-based system were highly influenced by the partial substitution of Cu by 3d-elements [2][3][4][5][6]. The substitution of Ni and Fe for Cu site showed a monotonically decrease on T c with the increase on the substitution levels.…”

“…The effect of elements (Pb, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn) doping in Bi-based superconducting materials have been extensively investigated [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. It was reported that the superconducting properties of these materials decrease with increase of the amount of doping, regardless of the nature of the dopants.…”

“…Intergrain properties of the Bi-based HT c system were influenced by the partial substitution of Cu by 3d-elements, such as Ni, Co and Fe (Pop et al, 1996a(Pop et al, , 1996b(Pop et al, , 1997Pop, 1999;Gu et al, 1998). The T c value decreased significantly with the substitution of Ni and Fe.…”
