The article looks into the conceptual status of a collection of essays. This subject is investigated by using a number of different methods, of which the most significant ones are analytical, historical and cultural, with a general cultural and philosophical approach to understanding the essence and the semantic scope of the creative functions of a collection of essays. Particular attention is given to the relevance of the creation of a collection of essays as a special art form in the culture of the Silver Age. The article defines the reasons for a collection of essays and its specificity as a form of the presentation of the solely personal thoughts. The most significant characteristics of a collection of essays are identified in the example of the analysis of the collected volume of essays by D. S. Merezhkovsky “Eternal Companions”. Special attention is paid to the creation of the collection of critical essays as a reflection of the author’s thoughts and the era itself. For this purpose, the articles included in the content of the collection are analyzed. The specific subjectivity of the author’s comprehension of the literary works is noted, and in general it is fully consistent with the spirit of the times of the Silver Age. It is emphasized that the essays included in the collection reflect the dynamics of Merezhkovsky’s thoughts. The essays collected in the volume conform with the general mainstream of the author’s thoughts, they can be understood as a single whole, and the collection itself can be regarded as a form of the representation of a creative personality in the artistic culture of the Silver Age. Special attention is given to the personality of the publisher who was a good acquaintance of Merezhkovsky P. P. Pertzov. Following the analytical procedures carried out on the texts in Merezhkovsky’s collection “Eternal Companions”, it is noted that the characteristic features of the author’s ideas present him not only as a literary critic, but mostly as a thinker. Eventually, the general conclusions are made: the collection of essays goes beyond the limits of only one author, the principles of its organization are indicated, and the importance of the author’s interpretation of the literary and cultural events as a whole is noted.

The research is basically aimed at studying the students’ conceptual structure and basic beliefs being formed and correlated as well as at their classifying in accordance with the level of integration and coherence. The students’ conceptual structures and basic beliefs are analyzed in the article; special attention is paid to semantic, categoric and conceptual abilities coherence (homogeneity) and formedness. If speaking about methodology of the research, it includes theoretical and empirical methods. Theoretical, cluster and factor analyses as well as the Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test allowed us to define 5 clusters (groups) with low, medium-low, mean (average), high and extraordinary indices of the students’ conceptual structure and basic beliefs formedness. These clusters significantly differ at levels from p≤0.01 to p≤0.05. The students’ conceptual structure and basic beliefs correlations form the level systems classification characterized by different coherence of these levels. It is sufficient to conclude that different basic beliefs are the core of the students’ subjective inner world and are correlated with these beliefs conceptual structures specificity. The attained results prove the phenomenon of the intellectual resource “splitting”: the intellectual resource can split into productive and non-productive components in case of high-level intelligence, i.e. if the intelligence level is too high the intellectual resource and its basic components can be insufficiently formed and/or poorly developed.
Introduction. Currently, intestinal dysfunction is an actual problem in abdominal surgery. According to data based on observations in different countries, this complication verified after surgical interventions outside the abdominal cavity. The review is devoted to the analysis of complications in abdominal cavity after non-abdominal operations. Postoperative abdominal complications developed after interventions in the retroperitoneal space, thoracic surgery, operations on pelvic organs, in the lumbar spine and other interventions. All these operations could cause evacuation disturbances and abnormal intestinal transit. Various terms are used to describe this condition, such as “postoperative flatulence”, “dynamic intestinal obstruction”, “functional intestinal stasis”, “postoperative functional intestinal obstruction”, “postoperative intestinal paresis”. The main cause of postoperative intestinal dysfunction is impaired intestinal motility. The purpose of the review is to analyze methods of prevention of intestinal functions that developed after extra - abdominal surgery.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
