Effect of Fenugreek Seeds and Probiotic Supplementation on Antioxidant Status and Milk Production in Heat Stressed Beetal Goats

Abstract: Twenty lactating Beetal goats were divided as Pre-summer group: (n=5) without supplementation and Summer group: (n=20). The latter group was further divided in sub-groups namely Group I: (n=5) Control, no supplementation; Group II: (n=5) supplemented with fenugreek seeds @ 10g/animal/day for 30 days; Group III: (n=5) supplemented with Yea Sacc®1026 @ 2g consisting of 10 billion yeast cells/animal/day for 30 days and Group IV: (n=5) supplemented with fenugreek seeds and Yea Sacc®1026 combination for 30 days. “…Anti-cold Stress Effect of Aqueous Extract of Fruit Kernel of Zanthoxylum armatum DC. in Wistar Albino Rats and depleted SOD levels which were brought within the normal range due to supplementation of Fenugreek seeds and probiotics (Sahoo et al, 2020). Parenteral administration of Selenium and vitamin E in buffalo during summer stress increased the feed intake with reduction in rectal temperature (Kumar et al, 2019).…”

“…There were no significant differences in plasma total protein, albumin, globulin, cholesterol, glucose and total lipids among the three groups. Sahoo et al (2020) concluded that supplementation with fenugreek in heat stressed lactating goats feed, had a positive effect on milk production, administered both individually and in combination with probiotics.…”
