“…Free CUR presented a higher antibacterial effect than CUR-loaded nanocapsules of Eudragit L-100 against L. monocytogenes in gerbils [167]. However, animals treated with CUR in nanocapsules showed reduced hepatic injury, evaluated by increased antioxidant capacity, pyruvate kinase, and Na + /K + ATPase activities and decreased lipoperoxidation [167].…”

“…The inhibition of CYP17A1 and CYP19A1 by curcuminoids provides a template for structure modification to produce effective and safe compounds that can target prostate cancer as well as breast cancer. Curcumin-based compounds can be further optimized for delivery as nano formulations, which have been tried in laboratory animals [37,100,101] as well as in human trials and shown to be safe [29,82]. Only a minor effect on CYP21A2 activity by curcuminoids compared to inhibition of CYP17A1 (50% inhibition of 17,20 lyase activity at 5 µg/ml compared to no significant effect on CYP21A2 activity at the same concentration) was observed.…”

“…Pregnant goats (midgestation; (85.58 ± 1.08 days of gestation; mean ± SD) were randomly allotted to two equal cohorts, where the first ( n = 6/group) was orally supplemented with CONC (3 mg/kg body weight [BW]; nanocurcumin [NC]) once daily for 32 consecutive days, and the other group was offered physiological saline following the NC group (control). The dose was selected following a previous study in goats (El‐Sherbiny, Fathi, et al, 2022) and another study in gerbils; the later study reported that oral supplementation with 3 mg/kg BW nano CUR surpassed the protective effect of 30 mg/kg mg original CUR (Jaguezeski et al, 2019). Nano formulation exerts a 9‐fold effect than the original molecule (Yu & Huang, 2012).…”
