Effect of Fuel on the Synthesis, Structural, and Magnetic Properties of M-Type Hexagonal SrFe12O19 Nanoparticles

Abstract: The aim of this work is to compare the formation temperatures, structural, and macroscopic magnetic properties of Sr-hexaferrite (SrM) in the presence of different fuels. In this research, SrM powder was synthesized by a sol-gel auto-combustion route using different hydroxycarboxylic acids: citric acid, tartaric acid, sucrose (gluconic acid), and lactic acid. Completion of reaction was followed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The obtained powders were further cha… Show more

“…6) whilst the desorption branch shows hysteresis between 0.8 and 1.0 relative pressure characteristic of mesopores in these nanostructures. The adsorption isotherms can often be associated with porous materials consisting of agglomerates of particles with approximately uniform spheres [38]. The remarkable S BET surface area and pore surface volume are found to 34.86 m 2 /g and 0.97987 cm 3 g À1 respectively and pore dimensions in the series is consistent with greater pore size distribution (25.62 nm), calculated by BJH method.…”

“…The S ⁄ and R ⁄ blocks have equivalent atomic arrangements, but are rotated at 180°with respect to S and R blocks around c-axis. S or S ⁄ block consists of two O 2À layers; while R or R ⁄ block contains three O 2À layers, with one oxygen site in the middle layer substituted by Ba 2+ ion [18,28,41]. There are 64 ions per unit cell on 11 sites of different symmetry.…”

“…BaFe 12 O 19 has wave absorption band of several gigahertz, as it has high coercive force and high magnetic anisotropy [2] by the Fe 3+ ion on the 2b, 4f 2 site in its magnetoplumbite structure. ion on the ferrite structure [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]. In this study, we investigated wave absorption range change of of BaFe 10 XTiO 19 (XTiM, X = Co, Cu, Ni, Zn) nanopowder according to change of magnetization easy axis by combination of divalent element (Co, Cu, Ni, Zn) and tetravalent element (Ti).…”
