Effect of Glass Fiber on Compressive, Flexural and Spliting Strength of Reactive Powder Concrete

Abstract: Abstract. Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) is a new technology in high strength concrete industry. Steel fibers are usually used as reinforcements in RPC mixture. In this research, steel fibers in RPC mixture are replaced by fiberglass. The volume of fibers used are 1%, 1.5%, and 2%. Curing process by steam curing in 12 hours. The concrete was tested after 28 days including compressive test, split tensile test, and flexural test. The result shown that optimal value of fiberglass added to mixture was 2% from tota… Show more

“…Wile and Parra-Montesions [ [12]], Meng & Khayat [ [13]] studied the effect of fibers on the flexural behavior of ultrahigh-performance concrete. Kushartomo and Ivan [ [14]] examined the effect of glass fiber on flexural, compressive, and splitting strengths of reactive powder concrete. Many investigations were conducted on the effects of fibers on combined stresses.…”

“…Previous research on fibrous concrete came to the conclusion that adding fibers to reactive powder concrete increases its flexural strength of the RPC are apparent (Kushartomo and Ivan, 2017;Pilakoutas et al, 2004;Wang et al, 2021). DTFs demonstrated less improvement in flexural strength compared to NFs.…”

“…Serat-serat ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan komposit yang biasa dikenal dengan plastik yang diperkuat serat gelas. Hal ini dikarenakan fiberglass bersifat ringan dan memiliki sifat tarik dan ketahanan yang kuat [8]. Sifat-sifat serat gelas dapat dilihat pada tabel 4.…”
