Effect of Initial Reactants and Reaction Temperature on Molten Salt Synthesis of CuCo2O4 and Its Sustainable Energy Storage Properties

Abstract: We have prepared CuCo 2 O 4 using 0.5 M NaNO 3 and 0.5 M LiNO 3 molten salts at different temperatures (410 and 610 °C) in the air. This was later used as an anode material for LIBs. The morphology, structure, and electrochemical properties of the products were observed using various techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer−Emmett−Teller surface and density method, cyclic voltammetry, and galvanostatic cycling tests. The XRD patterns showed a minor CuO phase in additio… Show more

“…The high-resolution Cu 2p spectra (Fig. 5d) reveals Cu 2+ 2p 3/2 and Cu 2+ 2p 1/2 binding energy peaks at 934.8 eV and 954.9 eV, respectively 74 . The statellite peaks at 944 eV and 963 eV indicate the existence of metallic copper in Cu/CuFe 2 O 4 @rGO hybrid.…”

“…The content of CuO was analyzed by MDI Jade software in the range of 21.5–23.8 wt % (shown in Table S3). Previously fabricated CuCo 2 O 4 also showed the presence of the CuO phase. Compared with CuCo-H, CuCo 2 O 4 composite spinels synthesized with the addition of CTAB showed diffraction peaks with stronger intensity and smaller full width at half-maximum, suggesting that the addition of CTAB increased the degree of crystallinity. All samples showed similar XRD patterns, indicating that the addition of CTAB and its dosage did not influence the phase of synthesized samples.…”

“…The critical processing parameters of the MSS method for nanomaterials, which are discussed further below, include (i) the identity of selected salts, (ii) the salt to precursor ratio (SPR), (iii) the MSS operating temperature (MOT), and (iv) the solubility of precursors in the selected salts when melted. ,,, Similar to other synthesis methods, parameters such as the characteristics of precursors, heating rate, and processing time also play important roles for the MSS of nanomaterials, while no further elaboration is provided in this review.…”
