Effect of La(Nb1/3Mg2/3)O3 addition on phase transition behavior and energy storage properties of NaNbO3 ceramics

Abstract: The doped NaNbO 3 ceramics of (1−x)NaNbO 3 -xLa(Nb 1/3 Mg 2/3 )O 3 were prepared by conventional solid state method, and then the dielectric, phase transition and energy storage performances were investigated. The X-ray diffraction results showed a phase transition from orthorhombic to rhombohedral occurred with the increase of x. The introduction of additives induced the first-order anti-ferroelectric phase transition and decrease of phase transition temperatures. As a result, an enhanced recoverable energy s… Show more

“…To identify the phase evolution of (1- x )(0.88NN-0.12BNZ)- x CT ceramics, the XRD patterns near the (200) peak of samples were enlarged and the results are shown in Figure b. The characteristic peak (200) shifts to a higher angle as the composition changes, which indicates that the lattice contraction occurs. , When CT was added to NN-BNZ ceramics, Ca 2+ (1.34 Å, CN = 6) could replace Na + (1.39 Å, CN = 6) at the A site, while Ti 4+ (0.64 Å, CN = 6) could replace Zr 4+ (0.69 Å, CN = 6), Ni 2+ (0.69 Å, CN = 6), and Nb 5+ (0.69 Å, CN = 6) at the B site, resulting in lattice contraction . The substitution of ions with smaller radius for larger radius is the cause of lattice contraction.…”

“…The parameter τ 0.9 denotes the time needed for discharging 90% of the stored energy, which is 4.28 μs at 300 kV/cm, demonstrating that Ta15 is potential for high-power application. Figure (f) shows the comparison of the energy storage performance between Ta15 and other NN-based relaxor ceramics. , Ta15 exhibits comprehensive energy storage properties with both high W rec and η, which are superior to most of the NN-based relaxors.…”

“…It reveals that the crystal structure was gradually transformed to cubic PE phase, and CZ could not trigger more complicated phase transitions, which is consistent with theoretical results and previous conclusions. 29) From above analysis, it can be inferred that the phase transition will be transformed into an irreversible reaction at surrounding conditions when CZ exceeds an adding limitation. Therefore, Fig.…”
