Abstract:Direct laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation is a noxious stimuli and induce sympathomimetic responses. Although well tolerated in healthy subjects, it may impose life-threatening arrhythmias, left ventricular failure or rupture of cerebral aneurysm in susceptible patients.
