Abstract: BACKGROUND: Patients with critical limb ischemia (CLI) often exhibit long, diffuse, totally occluded, and heavily calcified infrapopliteal (IP) lesions. Peripheral excimer laser atherectomy (PELA) has been proposed to increase the treatment success for complex IP lesions.
