A record linkage study in South Korea of over four million individuals aged ≥40 years reported a 12% increased risk of all-cause dementia over a mean follow-up of 4.9 years, 6 while a Taiwanese study reported that worsened MetS (ie, those who did not have MetS at the first time point, but developed it at the second time point over a 5-year period) was associated with a twofold increased risk of all-cause dementia in those aged ≥65 years over a 10year period.…”
