“…The experiments with the inhibitor of glutamine synthetase -methionine sulphoximine (MSO) were carried out to reveal the key role of the GS-GOGAT cycle in the process of NH4 + assimilation and the lack of GDH participation in that process (Berger and Fock 1983, Fentem et al 1983, Sadunishvili et al 1996. In the presence of the inhibitor there were observed the accumulation of NH4 +, the decrease of the Glu, Gln, Asp, Ala, Asn levels, the increase of the Leu, Val, Ileu, Lys, Pro levels and significant inhibition of the rate of 15N incorporation into amino acids.…”
