Effect of Minor Alloying Substitution on Glass-Forming Ability and Crystallization Behavior of a Ni57Zr22X8Nb8Al5 (X = Ti, Cu) Alloy Synthesized by Mechanical Alloying
Abstract:Ni 57 Zr 22 X 8 Nb 8 Al 5 (X = Ti, Cu) metallic glass (MG) and nanocomposite powders were synthesized by mechanical alloying. Outstanding differences in glass-forming ability (GFA), thermal property, particle size and crystallization behavior were found for the two synthesized alloy powders with different alloying substitutions. The Ti-containing MG powder exhibits better GFA, higher thermal stability, lower enthalpy of crystallization and smaller particle size compared with the Cu-containing nanocomposite pow… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
