Abstract:In this study, high-pressure torsion (HPT) was used to process austenitic 316LVM stainless steel at 20 °C and 400 °C. The effects of HPT on the microstructure, mechanical, and functional properties of the steel were investigated. By applying both HPT modes on the 316LVM steel, a nanocrystalline state with an average size of the structural elements of ~46–50 nm was achieved.
