Abstract:The paper presents the results of assessing the resistance of 14 maize hybrids to a negative temperature shock (NTS) of -4°C for 16 hours. The germination and growth seedlings parameters of maize hybrids were studied. Germination of maize seeds at optimal temperature of 26°C for 5 days was used as a control, and pretreatment of maize seeds with NTS followed by germination and subsequent growth at 26°C for 5 days was considered experimental.
