“…The response of maize crops to N is driven by the complex interaction of edaphic and climate conditions. One of the reasons speculated for the low response of blends by crops is the adequate N provided by the soil through organic N mineralization ( de Almeida et al., 2019; Garcia et al., 2018; 2019a). Moreover, the soil chosen in this study that had negligible mineral N levels contributed minimally to maize nutrition.…”

“…(2019b), the use of a blend containing 70% controlled‐release urea and 30% urea led to higher maize dry mass and N accumulation than uncoated urea. However, with the same blend in two contrasting soils, a low N fertilization response was found due to high organic N mineralization ( Garcia et al., 2019a). The field trial results showed that a mixture of controlled‐release fertilizers and uncoated urea improved the crop yield and nitrogen use efficiency while decreasing the cost of fertilizer and the labor required for fertilizer application ( Rubin et al., 2016; Zheng et al., 2017, 2016b, 2016a; Gagnon et al., 2019).…”

“…Технології застосування добрив мають ще багато не досліджених нюансів, серед яких першочергове значення сумісність добрив, гуматів і мікродобрив і реакція ґрунтового розчину [3,7,12].…”

“…By mixing CRU and normal urea at an appropriate ratio, rapid‐effective and slow‐released N could be combined to match crop N demand throughout the entire growing season, even under the adverse environments, and the total cost is also reduced due to decreased CRU rate and unrequested topdressing. This method has been considered as a better N management strategy for maize in China (Guo et al., 2017; Wang et al., 2015; Zheng et al., 2016) and Brazil (Garcia et al., 2018, 2019), and for other crops worldwide (Farmaha & Sims, 2013; Grant et al., 2012; Zhu & Zhang, 2017). Previous studies mainly focused on the effects of CRU mixture ratio on crop yield, economic benefit, and NUE, and determined the optimal CRU mixture ratio for maize as 30% at 180 kg N ha −1 in Northeast China and about 70% at 180 kg N ha −1 in Northwest China and Brazil.…”
