Effect of operating room care combined with home care for the postoperative rehabilitation and prognosis of gastric cancer patients with low PTEN gene expression

Abstract: The aim of the present study was to analyze the effect of operating room (OR) care combined with home care on postoperative rehabilitation and prognosis of gastric cancer patients with low PTEN gene expression. Ninety-six gastric cancer patients with low PTEN gene expression, who underwent surgical treatment in our hospital were recruited. PTEN expression was measured by semi-quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Participants were randomized into the observation and control groups, with 48 cases each. Partic… Show more

“…Surgery, the well-established method for cancer treatment, may also result in some negative emotions, affecting the QOL of GC patients [ 28 ]. The same as many other cancer patients, patients with GC show a need for health education because of the related stress as well as various kinds of treatment-related complications [ 22 , 29 ].…”

“…A previous study noted that patients in the GC who received more comprehensive care in the operating room and at home had better rehabilitation status of body function, QOL score, family adaptability, and cohesion score. Besides, postoperative SAS and Hamilton anxiety scale scores are decreased when compared with the control group [ 28 ]. More and more evidence shows that advanced nursing can reduce patients' anxiety and improve their quality of life in the course of treatment of disease [ 31 ].…”

“…If effective nursing programs cannot be coordinated in the perioperative period, patients of orthopedic surgery tend to suffer from infection, thrombosis, and other complications, which will reduce the surgical effect and hinder postoperative recovery [3]. The concept of accelerated rehabilitation surgery is a perioperative nursing concept of surgical patients first proposed by Danish surgeon Kehlet, which has been widely applied in orthopedic clinics at present [4]. The nursing mode based on the concept of accelerated rehabilitation surgery mainly refers to the adjustment and intervention of nurses to physiology, psychology, and other aspects of patients by using the comprehensive knowledge of clinical medicine during the operation, so as to reduce the stimulation of surgery, prevent related complications, and promote postoperative recovery [5].…”

“…Post-operative rehabilitation quality is influenced by many factors, including surgical procedure and time, stress and inflammatory response, intra-operative anesthesia quality, post-operative analgesic quality, and postoperative complications [11]. Thus, the levels of inflammatory cytokines in the plasma, opioid drug dosage, infusion volume, blood loss, surgery time, VAS score, and post-operative hospital stay were recorded in this study to evaluate the efficacy of the therapeutic method.…”
