“…Increase in oxygen concentration increase the mixture ratio of specific heat, this increases the conversion rate of the mixture thermal energy to work energy. The NO x level increases as the oxygen percentage increases [6] [8] [9] . The oxygen concentration increases the brake power significantly increases [13] [14] [15] .…”

“…The most convenient method for research is adding raw oxygen to intake for certain percentage by volume. Oxygenation methods also improves the emission and performance for biodiesels and diesel blends [6] [10] [19] .For a fixed volume of combustion chamber and rated speed, a certain amount of oxygen can be added for optimum values of emission because the limitation of maximum pressure and temperature, that can be further controllable by the help of different compression ratios. Thus the purpose of the study to investigate the effect of oxygen enriched combustion at different compression ratio on a single cylinder four stroke naturally aspirated diesel engine with different level of oxygen concentration and compression ratios.…”

“…Oxygen enrichment in the intake air is considered as one of the effective methods in reducing smoke and particulate emissions in Diesel engines when using vegetable oils as fuels. It is a simple method which needs no modification in either engine side or in fuel side [6][7][8]. Oxygen enriched combustion in Diesel engines was attempted by a number of researchers in the past using diesel and vegetable oils as fuels and reported that oxygen enrichment technique could be adopted for reducing smoke, HC and CO emissions of Diesel engines fuelled with vegetable oils as fuel [7][8][9].…”

Oxygen enriched combustion in Diesel engines was attempted by a number of researchers in the past using diesel and vegetable oils as fuels and reported that oxygen enrichment technique could be adopted for reducing smoke, HC and CO emissions of Diesel engines fuelled with vegetable oils as fuel [7][8][9]. However, past studies reported that the emissions of NOx were significantly high with oxygen enrichment technique with diesel and vegetable oils as fuels in Diesel engines due to the excess oxygen present in the combustion chamber and the attainment of high temperature of the products of combustion [8,9].…”
