Effect of Phaseolus Vulgaris on Urinary Biochemical Parameters among Patients with Kidney Stones in Saudi Arabia

Abstract: The study purpose was to investigate the effect of Phaseolus Vulgaris (PV) on urinary biochemical parameters among patients with kidney stones. We conducted a randomized controlled study among 60 patients with kidney stones (size < 10 mm) in the nephrology unit of both government and private hospitals, Al-Ahsa. Urinary volume, calcium, magnesium, potassium, oxalate, uric acid, and power of hydrogen (pH) were assessed before and after the intervention of giving 250 g of PV consumption as an extract thrice we… Show more

“…Similar gender differences in stone types were observed in a multicenter study across China 5 . The male predisposition to CaOx may be attributed to the following factors: the influence of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone on CaOx crystal formation in rat models 22 , the promotion of CaOx crystal formation by enhanced androgen receptor (AR) signaling in hepatocytes 23 , 24 , as well as factors such as heavy physical work, excessive sweating, inadequate fluid intake, and concentrated urine volume 25 . Furthermore, the incidence of UA was higher in men compared to women, with a male-to-female ratio of 5.75:1, which is consistent with previous studies 26 , 27 .…”

“…The discoveries of study was upheld by the Jalal et al directed an examination to explore the for about a month and a half, which was contrasted and control. Taking everything into account, PV is successful administration for the patients with kidney stones as it expands the urinary volume and improves the end of little kidney stones (Jalal et al, 2020).…”
