“…The rationale for plasma exchange is that colchicine is ≈40–50% protein bound at therapeutic doses. The data are conflicting as to the benefit, with a case report of plasma exchange revealing removal of only 0.01% of the ingested dose, an amount that is unlikely to influence clinical outcome [ 76 ], while other reports have suggested potential benefit [ 72 ].
