“…Preharvest pepper fruit maturity can influence the cut stem vase life, but the results may be dependent on the plant type. After evaluating two pepper cultivars, de FM Franca et al (2017) found that stems of one cultivar harvested with less mature fruit had a longer vase life than stems with fully mature fruit; however, the vase life of the second cultivar was unaffected by the harvest stage. Postharvest handling had the most consistent influences on vase life in that study.…”
