Effect of PVA addition on formation of spray-deposited Sm0.5Sr0.5CoO3 thin films on CeO2 substrates

Abstract: Nano-crystalline films of Sm 0.5 Sr 0.5 CoO 3 (SSC) have been formed on CeO 2 substrates by spraying stoichiometric aqueous solution containing Sm, Sr, and Co ions. Effect of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) addition as a complexing agent in spray solution on stoichiometry, crystallite size, morphology, and transport properties of film are studied. The results showed that the SSC cathode had maximum crystallite size for 40% PVA addition. Electrical performance of film decreases with decrease in the particle size, while… Show more

“…Strontium-doped samarium cobaltate (Sm 1−x Sr x CoO 3 , SSC) and A, B site doped SSC are being actively developed as one of the most promising cathode materials, even replace the conventional La 1−x Sr x MnO 3 and La 1−x Sr x CoO 3 materials [28][29][30][31][32]. Their researches focused mainly on achieving lower thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) values, at the same time, no decline in electrochemical properties [33][34][35][36][37].…”
