“…The preservation of the antioxidant activity after three months storage in nanoencapsulated form suggests that lipidic nanoemulsions can present a solution to the problem of instability of resveratrol, which was reported to be easily oxidized (Frozza et al, 2011). This also came in accordance with several other authors (Lucas-Abellán et al, 2007;Caddeo et al, 2008;Coimbra et al, 2011;Sessa et al, 2014), who declared that encapsulation of resveratrol in carriers, such as cyclodextrin complexes, liposomes and lecithin-based nanoemulsions were able to improve the stability of resveratrol. Similarly, this could be applied to curcumin, in which authors reported that its encapsulation in nanoformulations improves its stability (Rachmawati et al, 2015).…”

“…Large negative or positive zeta potential values induce repulsive interaction between the vesicles and thus avoiding aggregation of vesicles. Accordingly in the present study, the zeta potential of all the formulations was found to be less than À30 mV, which is considered as an acceptable value for physical stability of the vesicles (Caddeo et al, 2008). Amounts of EGCG and HA were optimized to be 10 mg and 1.75 mg respectively for 100 mg of lipid (ETF20) by considering the vesicle size, zeta potential and percentage of EE.…”

“…This study indicates that resveratrol is much more photoprotective when used in low dose. In an another study, Howitz et al (2003) showed that the photoprotective effect of resveratrol from radiation induced apoptosis in HEK 293 cells was reversed at concentrations greater than 50 (M. Caddeo et al (2008) also showed that at low concentration, resveratrol increased the number of cells without any evidence of toxicity. In contrast, cells treated with higher concentration of resveratrol showed loss of membrane integrity due to polymerized actin degradation and impaired functional status of cell (Caddeo et al 2008).…”
