“…Recently, Hossain et al reviewed the proton-conducting BZO perovskites in terms of material science and computational engineering. These in-depth focused reviews on the physical characteristics of barium zirconate from experimental and theoretical studies will help to perform future research in this sector. Hossain et al also experimentally studied SOFC electrolyte materials preparation in different sintering conditions , and conductivity measurements in various hydrogen-containing atmospheres for the BaZr 0·9 Y 0·1 O 3‑α (BZY), BaZr 0·955 Y 0·03 Co 0·015 O 3‑α (BZYC), and Gd 2 O 3 sintered pellets. Last, but not least, very recent studies show that SOFC electrodes associated with multiple REOs have also shown promising characteristics, such as resistance to sulfur poisoning and stable degradation behavior at high temperatures, which are desirable in fuel cell applications. , Specific applications of REOs in SOFCs are given in Table .…”

“…The powder was molded into a disk shape with a mold of 10 mm, subjected to hydrostatic pressing at 200 MPa, and then sintered at 1600°C for 5 h in air atmosphere. 29,40,41,42,43,44 The sintered sample was subjected to density measurement by Archimedes method 45 to obtain 98% or more to the theoretical density of 6.2 g/cm 3 . The sample size after surface polishing was approximately 7 mm in diameter and 2 mm in thickness.…”

“…The doped perovskite oxides show obvious higher protonic conductivity compared with those of un-doped in hydrogen or water vapor containing atmosphere. Until now, a lot of trivalent cations including Y, Pr, Tb, Yb, and Sm have been used to substitute the cation of Ce or Zr in BaCe(Zr)O 3 membranes [ 24 , 25 , 26 ]. The chemical stability, hydrogen permeation flux, and electrical conductivity of the doped membranes also have been thoroughly investigated.…”
