Effect of spiral antennas pulse distortion on the performance of ultra-wideband impulse radio systems

Abstract: The bit error rate (BER) performance of time hopping pulse position modulation (TH-PPM) impulse radio employing spiral antennas is investigated. Two-arm equiangular and Archimedean spirals are considered. Analytical compensation technique is applied to reduce antennas dispersion and enhance the system's BER performance.
