Effect of Spray Flow Rate on Washout of Gases and Particles in the Containment Systems Experiment.

Abstract: BNWL-IS91The results of a large-scale containment spray experiment, Run A9, are reported in detail. This experiment was performed in the 26,500 cubic foot Containment Systems Experiment (CSE) vessel in a steam-air environment. The spray flux was 0.3 gal/min per ft 2 which is higher than that of current PWR containment system designs.
