Effect of Staphylococcus Infection on Acid and Alkaline Phosphatase in Bruised Poultry Tissue

Abstract: SUMMARY increasing severity of trauma elicited marked differences in both acid and alkaline phosphatases. The former is a lysosomal enzyme; whereas, the latter is a nonlysosomal enzyme. The magnitude of enzymatic responses as a result of trauma was not the same for each enzyme. Acid phosphatase activity increased in the bruised tissue while alkaline phosphatase activity decreased.
