One of the communities with rapid economic growth in the world, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), is also a heading in the international Halal trade arena. Its member states, namely Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, and Thailand --the ASEAN-5-- are known as the driving forces of the worldwide Halal industry. For that reason, ASEAN can be a best practice in building a Halal-aware community and has a chance to be a locomotive as well in the Halal supply chain globally. Considering the encouragement towards sustainability and digitalization in embracing the Halal industry, thus, by using literature study, also combined with the netnography, this chapter presents an overview as follows: (1) The implementation of the Halal industry in ASEAN-5; (2) Sustainable supply chain in Halal ASEAN-5; and (3) Digitalization in Halal ASEAN-5; by providing also several examples as case studies that have been implemented.
